Street Racing inside the City

Street racing is a form of unsanctioned and illegal motor racing which takes place on public roads. Street racing is reported to have originated prior to the 1930s due to alcohol prohibition in some parts of the United States. San Diego, in Southern California was the first US city to allow the arrest of spectators attending street races. However, the roots of video games based on street racing can be traced back to OutRun in 1986, or Ridge Racer in 1993, where the tracks are composed of city streets and rural scenery.

If you ain't rubbin', you ain't racin'

There is a saying in America that goes along the lines of 'if you ain't rubbin', you ain't racin'. It was an expression that could have been coined for the Pickups. The sheer closeness of the racing ensures that the Trucks race mere inches apart, sometimes even closer, but this does not indicate poor driving standards. The pickup drivers have a mutual respect and they will give each other just enough room, but not an inch more than is absolutely necessary, of course!
